Most Americans? Do you have a source?

Most Americans know that obesity is a major health concern.
And Michelle Obama isn’t the only one campaigning for healthier food in schools.

  2. James says:

Alot of Americans are distrustful of their government and Michelle Obama represents the government so they are distrustful of her. They either see it as she is trying to win popularity for her husband or parenting and brainwashing other people’s children.

  3. Oh Baby, its cold outside...♥ says:

Americans should to be forced to use their brains from time to time. They’re really fuqqing up. Really.

  4. Invicta says:

There are certain people who oppose anything and everything Michelle Obama does and represents.

They oppose her for being a Princeton and Harvard graduate. They constantly badger her and try to draw her out to be someone who she really isn’t. I remember watching a segment on a Faux News program solely dedicated to how “mean” she looks. And the commentators were saying things like, “I think that she wears the pants in the relationship,” among other things critisizing her relationship with Barak. It was totally uncalled for and completely petty. People are so jealous of the woman, that she is well-educated, has a good career, a beautiful family, and she got this far on her OWN MERIT.

  5. Kansas Girl 2011 says:

Because they obviously do not want their kids to perform better in school. The cheap unhealthy they serve food DOES affect performance.

  6. Stephen Kline says:

What a horrible sentence – “these kids are ugly by drinking soda”. Michelle Obama can tend to her own family, but not mine, thank you.

  7. Baxter says:

Tired of government pushing up on me telling me what I can and can not do. Dried fruit for Halloween, get the fook out of here with that bs. Has nothing to do with Michelle Obama herself, if Bush’s wife or Clintons did that there would be controversy also. But like always, shes black so the race card gets dropped and all the talk is about her being black.

  8. Yes says:

It’s none of the government’s business. If kids want to drink soda and eat chips it’s between them and their parents.

Those of you who say it’s got to do with racism, you all need to wake the f*ck up. Go back and read what the hell you’re writing. If sh*t like that isn’t 100% pure, pure proof that TV brainwashes the living hell out of people, I don’t know what is. Yes, yes, you’re right, we oppose our freedoms being taken away “just to spite thaym got-dayemt NAGGERS!”, that’s what it is, you’re completely right. See, it’s not that we disagree with the policies, that couldn’t possibly be it. It’s definately got NOTHING to do with disagreeing with the policies. It’s absolutely, definately because we dislike them not because of their actions and decisions, but because we have a seething, loathing hatred for people who have pigmented skin, because they look different from us. That’s why we oppose it.

OR, it’s because it’s not the government’s job or right to come into our households and tell us what we can and can’t eat. This isn’t the USSR, and it’s unbelievably unconstitutional to do this. This is nowhere even REMOTELY CLOSE to what the government’s job is even as defined by the constitution that written when people first came here. People left Britain to get AWAY from this kinda sh*t.

Listen, if you can’t handle freedom, and you really believe that it is any government’s job to walk into every family’s life and micro-manage it for them “for their own protection”, you are living in the wrong country. It is totally, totally fine if you believe that; I’m not hating on you. I’m simply stating the fact that you are living in the wrong country. America is a free country (well.. not anymore because of sh*t like this that’s been going on the last 13 years but, for the sake of the point..).. If you don’t like freedom, because you’re scared that freedom does more harm than good and that people “can’t handle it”, and you think that it allows people to hurt themselves, there are plenty of other countries in the world you can go to that actively use National Socialism and your line of thinking. America was never, EVER, meant to be a place where the government sticks their nose in everybody’s business and dictates it and runs it for them. STOP trying to change it. You are destroying America. There’s other countries that already have what you want; go there. That’s not a slam/threat/aggressive statement, it’s an honest suggestion, because if you really believe it’s the government’s business to dictate people’s personal lives, you would be much, much happier in those other countries. This is America though, not Sweden, not Soviet Russia, not Nazi Germany, not China. And, in America, as the constitution that was written for it dictates, the government does not, shall not, nor ever should attempt to, stick their nose in the everyday lives of it’s citizens and rule them with an iron fist like a dictatorship or monarchy. Infact, our constitution says that when the government DOES start to do that, we should revolt, and not only SHOULD we, but that it is our DUTY to do so.

Please, move to one of those other suggested countries (there’s more if you care to look), and leave America here and intact for the people who want to actually live in a free America as defined by our constitution.

We’re essentially in under a National Socialist Police State now, not America with it’s freedoms anymore, I understand that, so we have ALOT of work to do to get America back. Voting for things like this is another step AWAY from America and what it’s supposed to be and what the founding fathers wanted for this country. Again, immigrants came here to get AWAY from this kinda sh*t, they boarded giant floating pieces of wood with almost nothing to their name, knowing it was very likely they were going to die long before even seeing shore again, JUST TO GET AWAY FROM SH*T LIKE THIS… And now you’re all asking for it back.

    Amazing.

    AMAZING.

[EDIT]: While the last part of that is true Kansas Girl, it is ***NOT*** the GOVERNMENT’S job to come into my house and force what they believe on me, or force me to do anything. In a free country, we make the decision ourselves; the government does not make it for us. Nobody here (to my knowledge), and myself, don’t disagree that soda and things like that are fattening. We don’t disagree that healthier foods improve brain function, attentiveness, etc. We don’t have a problem with healthy food, and we’re not sitting here going, “F*ck it, fill that kid up with chips n cake, it’s good for em hahahahah!”. What we have a problem with, is the government’s dictatorship now spreading so deep that they’re coming into our own houses and telling us what we can and can’t do, in a country that is supposed to be free. That’s why we’re getting so riled up, and you should be too. Even if you agree with what Michelle Obama is saying, that’s totally fine, I agree with alot of it too. I do NOT agree with them FORCING people into things.

Maybe because there are more pressing matters to attend to these days. The economy is still in rough shape, unemployment is still high, and we’re fight two wars. Seems that getting little Billy to eat his vegetables isn’t the most important thing she could be addressing at this juncture.

  11. sarahbear says:

I think junk food and soda shouldn’t be given to children in school. Michelle is doing a good thing and if somebody doesn’t like her policy then make lunch for you kids with what you would like them to eat. Its just promoting children to be healthy. A good diet can have a positive impact on school performance. Americans should really stop eating so much processed foods that promote obesity, heart disease and diabetes. Couldn’t agree with you more.
