Yeah, I’m lacto-ovo and I don’t do Worcestershire sauce. Like you said,
it’s flesh!

Are you sure you’re not thinking vegan? Lacto-ovo vegetarians (one of the
most common forms because it is the most casual on dietary restrictions) do
eat animal products like dairy or eggs, but won’t eat the actual flesh of
an animal, so cheese is okay.

Congrats on doing something veggie. So glad to see more support and
education and exposure. Great job. You can get worcestershire sauce that is
without fish or anchovies.

Rennet isn’t vegetarian though. It comes from the stomachs of slaughtered
calfs and is used to make some cheeses including parmesan. So many people
wouldn’t consider parmesan vegetarian. A lot of wines and beers aren’t
vegetarian either along with many other foods. I guess it really depends on
how strict you are with your diet… It seems like they hide meat in
everything D:

I’m a vegetarian ….going on two years YAY! Don’t miss meat at all…in
fact, it looks and smells so gross to me now. Katie Lee is bossy…makes me
uncomfortable every time she talks to people. Not a fan.

if you’re a vegetarian, unless you’re lacto-ovo, you wouldn’t put
Worcestershire sauce in it because there are anchovies in it, and that’s
fish, so it’s flesh. in fact even lacto-ovo veggies probably wouldn’t use
it….

First thing i noticed wrong with calling one of the dishes vegetarian was
having Worcestershire sauce as an ingredient. Most vegetarians would look
up what’s in things before using them. If you google Worcestershire you
will find out something rather disgusting- anchovies are fermented for 2
years I believe and they dissolve completely. GROSS. No thanks.

If that cheese is parmesan then it’s not vegetarian either. It contains
rennet which is an enzyme from animal stomachs.

We’re the highest in the food chain plus they weren’t vegans all their
lives, they ate meat and chicken throughout their childhood so I guess it
reminds them of good meals. My sister is Vegan, My father just doesn’t eat
meat for health reasons. my mother doesn’t eat chicken. I’m the only one in
the family that can eat and enjoy tofu one day then enjoy a bucket of KFC
the next day.

Many food animals in the US are not slaughtered humanely. The US Humane
Slaughter Act (HMSA) mandates that livestock be stunned unconscious before
slaughter to minimize suffering. However, birds such as chickens and turkey
are exempted from the HMSA, and many US slaughterhouses routinely ignore
the HMSA. A 2010 report by the US Government Accountability Organization
(GAO) found that the USDA was not “taking consistent actions to enforce the
HMSA.”
