Fall is one of the best times of the year to take a vacation. With fewer people taking vacations, destinations and attractions are less crowded, and hotel rates are extremely low. In addition, the weather is almost perfect, and many places offer breathtaking vistas of leaves changing colors, clear skies and so much more. In order to help vacationers prepare for their fall getaway, John Giduck of John Giduck Vacations is sharing some travel essentials that people should never forget to pack.

1. Earplugs

Bringing a pair of earplugs is always a great idea, no matter what time of the year a vacationer is traveling. Besides being useful to drown out the background noise to get some shut-eye while on a plane, they can also be useful for getting sleep at one’s hotel. While the hotel itself might be in a great, quiet location, there is always the chance of having neighbors who party late, come to their room in the middle of the night or leave extremely early.

2. Antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer

It is so easy to catch an illness on a plane because there are lots of people in a confined space with air that constantly circulates throughout the cabin. In order to protect oneself against catching a sickness this fall, John Giduck suggests bringing along wipes to wipe down the tray table and arm rests on the plane as well as hand sanitizer to use before eating or touching one’s mouth and face. Taking these simple precautions will go a long way in keeping travelers healthy this fall.

3. Portable charger

Few feelings are worse on a plane than one’s electronic devices dying halfway through the trip. To make sure that this does not happen, make sure to purchase a small, portable charger. Keep it juiced up and take it everywhere to ensure that devices never run out of power.

4. More than one pair of sunglasses

While there are plenty of places to buy cheap sunglasses in most vacation destinations, if a traveler is used to a specific shape or style of sunglasses, it may be prudent to pick up an extra pair in case something happens along the way.
