Question by Pavement: I need a healthy eating menu plan, I’m so lost and overweight :(?
It’s time that I leave behind my yo-yo diets, I’m literally sick of it and need help on knowing how to cook up healthy meals. I really don’t know what’s right for me to eat for each time of the day, I’m kind of picky and I can’t afford to buy any “Jenny Craig” type of deals or a personal trainer at the gym to advocate me.
So that brings me to you guys in givng me some resources I can look into to, I’ve tried searching through diet magazines for articles that provide you with a list of foods but have not come across any!
I’m going to the gym but I also need to go to the grocery!!!
(Just don’t know what to purchase)
And also, to be specific, my set weight it 130lbs but I am now 170lbs at 5’4. I plan on running every morning and lifting weights…I just need to know the right foods to eat…

South Beach Diet. Incredible food, easy to make.
Basically it’s like the Atkins but not so extreme. Rather, it teaches you the basics to carbohydrates and how to regulate them to lose weight in a healthy manner. And it’s credible; it was written by a cardiologist. The first two weeks you abstain from carbs, then you slowly reintroduce them to see which ones are best for you. The focus is to lose weight and then to keep it off.
My parents have been on this diet successfully. In bookstores you can get a copy of “The South Beach Diet” which includes recipes, plus you can get all sorts of other cookbooks. As well, some foods in stores are marked as South Beach Diet approved. Since I live at home still while i go to colege, i thought i would suffer through this diet or find something else to eat. But the food is really good!

When I had my baby my weight shot up to 15 stones, so I can sympathise.
Running probably isn’t a good starter as it can totally put you off excersing if you’re not used to it. Get yourself an mp3 player, or ipod and go walking. Go for a good hour long walk. If you exercise before breakfast, you’ll burn more fat.
You also need to feed your metabolism and speed it up. Get a packet of nuts and raisins and nibble on them throughout the day. Tiny, healthy snacks eaten regularly curbs your appetite and keeps your metabolism ticking over at a healthy rate. For meals, cut down on portion size. No portion of meat or carbs should be bigger than your closed fist.
I lost 42lbs through doing this.
Good luck (:

Every meal, eat a piece of protein no bigger than the palm of your hand, no thicker. Eat some fruit, dairy, and grains at each meal.
Here’s a good day on a diet:
Breakfast:
Lean breakfast meat, about 2 ounces, grilled
2 eggs cooked without added oil
2 slices toast with jam (no butter)
One apple.
One cup coffee or tea with milk. No sugar.
Morning snack: small handful of almonds
Lunch:
tuna mixed with low-fat mayo on whole wheat bread
One banana
1 bowl vegetable soup – no added salt
1 dill pickle stick
Afternoon snack: nectarine slices in lime juice
Dinner:
One grilled chicken breast, seasoned with salt, pepper, and grill seasoning
Large green salad, with tomatoes, cucumbers, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, green beans, and 2 table spoons low fat dressing on the side.
(Dip your fork in the dressing, then stab some salad.)
Glass of skim milk

There is a free site called http://www.sparkspeople.com
It lets you plan menus, gives you exercise tips, has a forum and helps you with your weight loss. Try it. I did this for a while it is just like weight watchers online but FREE!
Also you can go to http://www.mypyramid.gov
and create your own plan. Shows you what you should be eating daily from the food groups. I write mine down and post it on the refrigerator where I will not forget. Keeps you slim and healthy! Good Luck!!!
