Why would you want to eat that little? That’s so low it’s unhealthy and you won’t lose weight.

Dieting is very bad for your health. 600 -800 calories per day will starve your body and may cause organ and heart damage. Your body will literally eat itself to make up for the deficiency. You’ll lose muscle tissue as well as fat. What’s scary is that some of it will even come from your heart muscle. Dieting does not work. Change of lifestyle is the only healthy and permanent way to lose weight. If you’re looking for an “easy” way to lose weight, there isn’t one. Losing weight is not easy. If it was, we’d all be skinny. The average person needs roughly 2,000 calories per day with moderate activity to stay healthy and to prevent weight gain. Anything less starves the body.

In principle losing weight is simple – burn more calories than you eat. In other words, if you’re overweight, eat less (2,000 calories is good) and move more. The hard part is consistency and staying motivated. Losing weight is hard work, but rewarding when you see results. A weight loss program is a permanent change of your habits that should last the rest of your life. Before making radical changes to your diet and starting excercise routines, it would be wise to consult with your physician.

Most people know what healthy eating is so I don’t need to say much about it; more vegetables, fruit and whole grains, less meat and processed foods.

Drink lots and lots of water. We’re supposed to drink atleast six to eight glasses of water every day. Water is vital for organ functioning, metabolism and therefore for weightloss as well. Water also helps make you feel full.

A little hunger in the middle of the day won’t hurt you. Learn to ignore it or reach for celery or other low fat, low calorie filler to fend off between meal hunger pangs.

A safe rate of weight loss is 1 to 2 lbs per week and is more likely to stay off long term. Be kind to your body.
