Whats the best way to do the GI diet?

Question by sofiasan82: Whats the best way to do the GI diet?
I want to start the GI diet as I’ve heard its a good, if not the best diet… However, Im a student and work full time and time for cooking, preparing etc is not always an option.
Maybe its lazy, but I do not want to read a whole book about a diet, and all the websites I have looked at contradict whats best to eat..
So whats the right way to start it?
What am I allowed and not allowed?

The glycemic index range is as follows:
Low GI = 55 or less
Medium GI = 56 – 69
High GI = 70 or more

search for “low GI foods” on Google or Yahoo to get a list and then since you say you are lazy just make sure you get the combinations correct because the GI of any meal will be raised or lowered depending on the different things you eat in any 1 meal.
Eg: if you ate just watermelon on its own then the GI would be 72 which is very high but if you ate some chicken as well the overall GI is lowered considerably.Just search the web for a site that has more information and select your foods accordingly.
