Sublime Hosts Sold-Out Benefit for the Physicians Committee

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) March 10, 2015

Nanci Alexander, owner of Sublime restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, will host an exclusive sold-out event to support the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, a nonprofit organization promoting prevention, good nutrition, and higher ethical standards in medical research.

The benefit will treat 80 guests to gourmet vegan hors d’oeuvres and drinks, and a presentation by Physicians Committee president Neal Barnard, M.D., about the Physicians Committee’s lifesaving work.

“Thanks to our supporters, the Physicians Committee has conducted vital research and kept the lifesaving benefits of plant-based diets in the headlines,” says Dr. Barnard. “A delicious, healthy meal at Sublime—one of America’s premier restaurants—is the perfect way to celebrate.”

The award-winning Sublime features a completely plant-based menu. Dishes are prepared with fresh organic herbs grown on Sublime’s rooftop garden. Additionally, 100 percent of Sublime’s profits go to organizations that promote a plant-based and vegan lifestyle.

“The Physicians Committee has spent 30 years improving our nation’s health by advancing nutrition,” says Congressman Ted Deutch. “Getting plant-based foods on everyone’s minds – from Washington, D.C., to Fort Lauderdale – and plates is a lifesaving mission.”
