Q&A: Is healthy eating possible for fussy eaters?

Question by Soph F: Is healthy eating possible for fussy eaters?
I’m soooo fussy when it comes to food – I’m not too keen on fruit – I’ll eat the odd apple from time to time but that’s about it. I don’t like nuts or seeds to some extent & every healthy eating article says about snacking on nuts, seeds & fruit. Can anyone recommend anything else which helps you to loose weight but isn’t fruits/nuts or suchlike?

Healthy eating is definitely possible, I’m incredibly fussy… though I -love- salted/mixed nuts [I eat looooots of them] and I’m ok with most fruit so… but I do eat healthily.

Have you tried alot of fruit? Lots of them taste different… Also some of them are crunchier (more apple-like) if you eat them in an almost-ripe state.
and, do you eat vegetables? raw vegetables make good healthy snacks too.

also try eating wholemeal stuff, like bread/cereal… cos it’s got more fibre it fills you up more so you’re not as hungry.

Fruits, nuts and seeds belong in the carbohydrates section. Fruits also gives you fiber. Nuts and seeds give you protein too. You’ll need replacements.
You need the basic three nutrients in food: carbohydrates (a type of sugar), fats and proteins.
You can replace the fiber you get from fruit by eating more vegetables or whole-grain products. You should eat about 25 grams of fiber a day for healthy eating.
Fruit, nuts and seeds can be replaced as carbohydrates by potatoes, cassava, yams, taro, dried peas, dried beans, grains, rice, sugar, milk, candy. I recommend milk. It gives you fat (giving you more energy) and it contains calcium and protein too! That could be your protein replacement.
I hope I helped. If you need some recipes to find out what you can eat as a fussy eater try these sites. All the recipes are healthy and contain information about the nutritional value. That way you can see how much of each nutriet you’re eating everyday.
