What you haven’t talked about are glycogen reserves. If a person is running
around with a great amount of available sugar stored away in the liver or
muscle cells, then more insulin is just going to mean more fat storage. In
an athletic person that is draining glycogen reserves, sure. The answer is
complex, and a person that is more of a couch-potato (having a lot of extra
available stored glycogen) will probably make the wrong choice by eating
more volume of sugar in general, rather than removing all free sugars from
the diet as much as possible that are so easily converted to fat, and also
tax the liver, spike insulin swings and mess up hormone responses over time
    to leptin and insulin signaling.

And when you become insulin resistant you are going to require more and
more insulin and you pancreas is going to get worn out. Pretty soon your
fasting blood sugars are going to be high and then you are in trouble. I
tried the high carb at night and the low GI works better at night. You want
low insulin. You only have one hormone to lower blood sugar and that is
insulin. If you shoot all your bullets in your youth when you hit 60 you
are going to be in trouble. Why would you spike insulin.

  13. andrewdh07 says:

I believe he’s referring to the Carb Nite effect. The book states you must
consume no more than 30g of carbs per day, but once a week you must
purposely spike your insulin with high glycemic foods in order to “cross
    that threshold”.

  14. Uniform Health says:

That all said the stimulate effect of nicotine is likely a large reason why
smokers typically end up gaining about 8lb after quieting. As the stimulate
has been removed and appetite(longer with senses like taste and smell) is
restored. If your at 7% BF trying to drop to for contest 3%-5% you might
see it a as a very last resort option but it would like hurt to in maintain
a over healthy weight long term. Element that he does not seem to
    mentioned.

  15. Uniform Health says:

ok no im sorry eating high GI meal at night is going to cause LDL formation
hyperglycemic. Any short increase in metabolic rate from SNS stimulation is
not going to of set the negative health effects. you may be more resistance
to them because your body wants this carbs but less will be stored as
glycogen and more as fat. Before you ask me for my studies were the fack
are his? The research shows ooo you looked at all the research and
accounted for all the side effects?

  16. Baloo0254 says:

Hey, John! I believe your ‘stretching’ the truth a little bit, since you
only look at the macro-nutrients. However, vitamins and minerals are really
important for your health and food with a low GI most often have more
minerals and vitamins than high glycemic foods. How do I deal with that?

  17. OmegaDude22 says:

Is there any third party source where I can get informed about this high
    insulin threshold?

  18. Uniform Health says:

though cant say i have, his flawed here till i see this research that can
stated up against criticism. Disclaimer: Havent read his book Not a real
big fan of this guy special since going as far as to recommend nicotine.
There a right way to lose weight an there is a wrong way.

  20. craigpti says:

As my understanding of GI nutrition is that low GI foods help increase
Glucagon which helps reduce body fat and that high GI foods increase
insulin that stop that release as sugar is available to use as energy. What
I get from this video, is that you’re saying by having high GI foods and
increasing your blood sugar past a certain point makes the insulin that
usually stops fat from being used actually starts to burn fat even though
    sugar and glucose is available?

  21. Andy P says:

Why does this dude even talk about the Glycemic Index?!?!?!?!?!?! OMG the
GI is completely irrelevant unless you’re diabetic! It was developed in the
1980’s for DIABETICS and was done completely isolated in a completely
fasted state which does not translate into the real world. If you’re
healthy the GI does. not. matter. PERIOD. End of story.

  22. jsnjwb84 says:

Why would you spike insulin with high GI foods when you dont have too.
Protein can spike insulin. If you are going to spike insulin why not just
eat more protein foods. Fat increases the insulin response of protein too
and your body can handle the glucose made from protein because it releases
slowly. The more you spike insulin the more resistant you are going to
become. Now it is better than the SAD diet any diet is better than the SAD
diet. You have to state what you are comparing your diet to.

  23. Joghurtmacher says:

When insulin is very high and falls rapidly then HGH levels spike and you
burn a lot of fat. I think that is what he meant.

  24. EncycloTube says:
