Hi chef, Ive been trying to get this right for a month now- the taste was just too blunt – I found that if you wash the rice first, then put some oil in the pot and mix in the rice, add salt and peper and even a spoon of dried chicken stock, THEN add the water (allready boiled) – bring to a boil, leave for 15 mins on low, then 15 to 20 mins to cool, turns out PERFECT :))

Just a question, If I made too much would it be ok to let it cool down and then put it in the fridge and eat cold the next day?

There’s an old British recipe my family passed down to me. You start by going over to somewhere like India, Pakistan or China where they know how to cook rice. Apply colonialism and simmer for a century or two. Then convince their people to immigrate to your nation and order take-out from the restaurants they set up.

Works every time, and the rice is delicious!

thank you so much for this, my mom dropped off a 10lb bag of jasmine rice at my house for me to use and I always made that mistake of not letting the steam settle. Made the biggest difference!
