How can I lose a significant amount of weight in a healthy manner?

Question by Tashina: How can I lose a significant amount of weight in a healthy manner?
My Doc has requested I lose about 55 pounds in a year by my next visit. I have a gym membership and I have an idea on healthy eating habits. I just need a little guidance But just have myself for support. I prefer morning workouts to night time because of my work schedule. I have read that cardio is the best to losing weight and body fat. ex; elliptical, treadmills. How long should I do either in the morning?

if it has been a while since you have worked out, i would start out slow and with walking. maybe start with 20-30 minutes the first week. then, move up in increments of 10 minutes until you reach 60. if you can do more than this at first, that’s great- go for it. don’t forget the toning exercises.

what’s good for you is that you have a gym membership. most of the time you can get them to make a plan for you that fits your needs.

just be consistent. even keep a journal of your food intake and exercise to help you stay focused.

    Join a dance class. Dancing is a wonderful way to burn off those extra calories. It is true. When you dance you are in fact burning away a lot of calories. Of course we are not referring to the slow ballroom kind of dances in which one person actually leans on the other one for support. We are talking about fast dances. The best way to do it is by joining a dance class because they will really wok you out. But I would suggest that you wait for a couple more pounds to vanish before you think of becoming a ballerina.

    change your diet , do more exercise, and make a plan for it.

    You should alternate between cardio and strength training. If you stick to just cardio you will plateu, and if you stick to strength training wou won’t burn as much fat. Alternate 1300 calories to 1500 calories every other day. Eating healthy foods such as fruits, veggies, whole grains and lean meat. Do 30 min cardio, jogging, dancing, etc everyother day and strength training everyother day. On youtube there are many exersizes and modified versions. Have a rest day and a treat day where you can have your fav snack. Dont be too strict and dont ever miss a work out day. So if you binge at least you worked out. Good luck. Try not to even keep track of the weight loss, you might become too obsessed like me 🙁 the best thing to do is just change your life style and it’ll happen.
