It doesn’t mean much by saying that bee pollen has more protein by weight
than beef. A serving of beef (100-250g) will cost a lot less than the same
amount of bee pollen (by weight). But, who is consuming 100g of bee pollen
in each serving? Who is rich enough to do that? One or two tablespoons of
bee pollen (the actual dose of a serving) has minimal protein (not that
protein is necessarily that vital in the amounts found in animal products).
Also, that stat about goji berries containing all those amino acids – so do
all foods!! Download cronometer and type in various foods, and you’ll see
that food of all sorts has these amino acids in varying proportions.
Although, I admit, as a vegan food, goji berries are right up there with
spirulina for protein.

Where did you get your desire to learn about this berry to such an extent?
How old were you when you discovered it?

I grew up eating these in Socorro and Las Cruces NM. I researched it, now
at my age, in my earlie 50s, I find out this info from you Nyishar. This is
great info. I don’t believe that I ever knew the name of these blissful
berries at the time. However, my sainted mother told us they were “good for
you” so ate them we did…she had a very holistic nature about her….I
love my mum…Ellie

I love goji berries! I am addicted and eat them almost every day!
Unfortunately, they don’t always contain a lot of vitamin C. It can range
from as little as 29 mg per 100 grams of berries to 148 mg per 100 grams of
berries, apparently, which is quite a difference. 🙁
I also love that they contain so many different nutrients, but it’s too bad
that there’s no real conclusive scientific evidence to support their many
health claims.
Could you make a video on a few different recipes that you use goji berries
in? Maybe ones that showcase the flavour and not completely hide them? I
usually throw them into a trail mix or add them to oatmeal or cereal, which
is great, but other options would be nice too. :)

I am so appreciative of your videos, they’re so helpful and informative.
Unfortunately, where I live (East Coast USA) Gogi berries are $26 dollars
a #. I have been looking since I saw another one of your videos with them.
I want to buy some and at least try them, but consuming them on a regular
basis is probably not going to happen for me. :(

Hey Joanna, where did you get your pack of goji berries from? The £1.80
pack. I’m comparing prices in supermarkets v.s. the Asian stores around my
area. Thank you, and definitely loving this superfruit! I love them in my
soup, oatmeal or simply just pour hot water over it for a cup of sweet,
warming tea! Add some ginger powder, I’m in my comfort zone!

Usually eating/drinking something 7 times will alter your taste buds, so if
you don’t like something at first, just keep trying and soon enough you’ll
love it, e.g. I used to dislike the taste of Green Tea (Asian blaspheme :D)
I used to hold my nose and gulp it down, but now I love it! Especially
drinking a cup with a great book 😉 I really hope to find these berries!
Thank you :)
