A valid point. Its not a thorough explanation of a complicated subject,
maybe because it was cut short. The GL is the sum effect, & the GI is a
reference of a food eaten in isolation. Agree that it’s important to know
the GI of food as a reference, but also be aware of the GL, e.g., the GI of
white bread is pretty high, but add a tablespoon of natural peanut butter
on it, and the GL then is significantly lowered.

Thanks for explaining the concept of glycemic load for the rest of us. It
looks like your video got cut short though – is there a part 2 to this
somewhere?

He DOES address this if you listen to what he’s saying… he says that GI
is a consideration but most people dont go around eating a pound of carrots
in a sitting.

Does he look active? Does he look slim? I would recommend doing the
opposite of what he does. Listen to the people that are getting the results
you desire. If you want to be fat, then I guess his way is the way.

I think Dr. Weil got this wrong, you cannot water down glycemic load, it
can only be added because GL already considers the actual size of the
portion, GI food can be averaged with lower (or higher) GI foods because of
the standarised nature of the measurement (50 grs of carb reference)

No disrespect intended, but if I eat as you suggest, will I become as heavy
as you are?

So, bread with GI 88 or white sugar of GI 68 are ok if taken in Along With,
low GI antiinflamatory foods… ? But not separate on it´s own, right? (as
to avoid high peaks straining the organism)

The Dr. himself seems confused here. G.I. & G.L. ARE NOT even explained nor
is his “point” made clear. The G.I. of foods SHOULD be the factor,
otherwise YES, you’ll find athletes who will walk around all day eating
baby carrots from a bag thinking it’s healthy. The load then is the volume,
so this is Obvious, but no, I would still rather see people aware of the
Actual Index, & the overall volume then becomes obvious. ONE carrot eaten
in a 2,000 cal meal of fats & grains has a lowered G.I. dah?
