Award-Winning Cooking Magazine For Kids Launches Online Cooking Club: Six Essential Recipes Every Kid Should Know How to Make

ChopChop Launches Online Cooking Club

Watertown, MA (PRWEB) June 08, 2015

This summer, ChopChop Kids, publisher of the award-winning ChopChop: The Fun Cooking Magazine for Families, is leading a national healthy cooking campaign with its first online cooking club. ChopChop is challenging families to master six essential recipes—one at a time—by joining the ChopChop Cooking Club, free and online at http://www.chopchopcookingclub.org.

How it works:

Each month, club members will receive a recipe challenge comprised of step-by-step instructions supplemented with basic cooking skills, food facts, family discussion prompts, and shopping tips. Families are invited to post a picture of their finished dish to http://www.chopchopcookingclub.org to earn a virtual badge for completing the challenge. Badges will celebrate different cooking skills learned in each recipe, such as whisking, measuring, roasting and grating. Club members are encouraged to complete all six challenges for a chance to win prizes from the cookware brands KitchenAid, OXO, and Le Creuset.

“We’re seeing a new generation of kids who lack fundamental cooking skills,” says Sally Sampson, Founder of ChopChop. “If you teach kids to cook real food, they’ll lead healthier lifestyles, which is why we’re inviting every kid to join the ChopChop Cooking Club. They’ll learn how to make six essential recipes we think every kid should know how to cook.”

The ChopChop Cooking Club is an extension of ChopChop’s mission: to educate and inspire families to cook real food together. The goal of the Cooking Club is to move families from thought to action by encouraging kids to pledge to cook with their parents and caregivers at least one night a month. “The ChopChop Cooking Club helps remind families that cooking is fun—and that they should get into the kitchen together” explains Sampson. “Because ultimately, cooking together creates healthier kids and healthier communities.”
