This review is from: Nine Stars DZT-80-4 Infrared Touchless Stainless Steel Trash Can, 21.1-Gallon (Kitchen)
These points are why I love this garbage can: – Large Capacity (We now only take the garbage out on trash night vs. 2/3x a week) – Touch-less (Stays a lot cleaner and more sanitary {I’m a germ freak}) – Stainless finish (Easier to clean {We’ve yet had to really scrub this down; been a month since ownership}) – Bag-less appearance (Keeps the trash looking neater w/o that messy overhang)
Before making this purchase, I read the previous reviews and was hesitant after seeing some of the lower ratings. I have no idea why people had such a bad experience (maybe lemons to begin with?) as I’ve had nothing but good experiences with mine. Some reviews said taking the trash out was hard, I don’t think it is. Sure you have to be careful with the inner ring (as it is something you wouldn’t want to break), but what do you expect if you want to hide the trash bag? It’s a given and I believe this can was well designed. I do wish the top part was a little more appealing to look at (possibly all stainless top w/ black plastic lid?), but in all – a great buy.
Highly recommended this item as it was the only trash can that I found featuring: – Stainless – Touch-less – 15+ Gallon Capacity
Other trash cans didn’t come close to the last feature, and if any, were twice the price! This is a great buy, highly recommended for 2+ people households.

I’ll try to address a few of the common issues I had read on the post here. Many are the “user” understanding issues.
The sensor for this can is not reading directly above the sensor and why waving a hand over the top doesn’t seem to work easily. The sensor reads in “front” of the can so you shouldn’t have to wave your hand, just walk up to it. That is why it opens every time you walk by too close in front of it. It is not a good idea to open or close by grabbing the lid it impacts the gearing/sensor ratio and causes the lid not to open fully like some have commented on. The close button acts as a reset button if this happens. it is also a good idea to take the lid off and turn the sensor off (red button) and back on when changing batteries. This also should fix the lid not opening fully. If you want the lid to stay open press the open button and the lid will open fully and lock there. You will have to press the close button to get it to close. The lid will not open if there is a green light on. If that happens just step away for a second and when the light turns red it will work fine. Many have complained that there are no 21 gallon bags. There are some available on line but I haven’t found any in a local store. I would suggest using a trash compactor 20 gallon bag. They are thicker and stronger and will hold almost anything without breaking. They are typically slightly scented that will help address the odor that can come from a larger bag not being changed out as frequently. Walmart has them in stock in the stores for about $7, the are usually on the bottom shelf in a bag. Hope this helps.

A few answers that may help the user experience,
