Super food is a marketing word. All whole plant foods are super foods,
these just happen to be uncommon and thus cost more. I’d argue that sweet
potatoes are far healthier than most of these, except maybe the watercress.

I don’t appreciate the “superfood” moniker, unless it’s supported by many
peer-reviewed studies (not those paid for by the companies manufacturing
them). All too often they enter the public consciousness by nefarious means
and then get propagated like this.

Hi Guys, I hate to be picky but here go’s, Avocados, too much potassium for
anyone with any kidney issues. The same for any of the seeds or nuts or nut
milks. Acai, high in sugar. Watercress, allergen. Kale,Yucky! Thanks.

Not sure how being a sports presenter makes someone an expert on nutrition!
Any properly qualified nutritionist or dietitian wouldn’t spout nonsense
about “superfoods” – it’s a balanced diet that’s important, not worrying
over the nutrient content of individual (usually expensive) foods. Please
stick to cooking guys…

Actually, chia seeds offer a lot more than just fiber. They have more
Omega3 fatty acids than salmon and more antioxidants than blueberries, plus
they have all the essential amino acids. Super food indeed. However, you
need to warn people that they are HUGELY hygroscopic — ie, they absorb a
tremendous amount of water — which is great if you’re using them to
thicken something, but a disaster if you eat them and don’t drink enough
fluids. So always either soak them first, to create gel, or, if you’re
sprinkling them on salads and such, drink plenty of water.

Açaí berry is fantastic! We eat it as a smoothie, almost like a sorbet with
granola on top! Boost your metabolism and gives you a kick of energy better
than a redbull can, altough, I don’t recommend eat big portions, because
has a lot of calories.

Oh, no. Don’t go there, the supposed “healthy trend”… nutritional terrorism
doesn’t help anybody. And açai berries are very nice, but the real deal is
very different .
