Thank you for not being one of those bandwagoning videos about how gluten
is bad for you(for people that dont have celiac or are not sensitive). Very
informative and enjoyable video :)

Canary Seed (Alpiste) is another gluten free seed which is very high in
protein, iron, arginine, tryptophan and phenylalanine.
Here’s the nutrition info on ‘silica fiber free’ quality Alpiste seeds:

last time I checked, meat was a processed food. One must cook it to eat it.
Same goes for tubers and root vegetables

Cutting gluten out of your diet is a bad idea if you don’t have celiac
disease. The statement that gluten is only in processed food is simply
wrong, unless you consider adding water a form of processing. It offers no
health benefits but will cost you more money and make it harder to maintain
a healthy diet.

I lived many years with the diagnosis of IBS. Which really means doctor’s
don’t know what is the root cause of ailment. Did a self test of no gluten/
wheat products for seven days then try wheat, as advise by an online health
adviser. When I ate a slice of whole wheat bread I was full of discomfort.
I found out I had a gluten intolerance/ wheat allergy causing inflammation
in the gut. Please consider this possibility before damage occurs.
Probiotics will help but to keep introducing what is causing the problem
in the first place will prevent real improvement.

I thought this was going to be one of those stupid “omg gluten is evil, go
to Whole Foods and spend twice as much on gluten-free” types of preaches.
But it was actually a really smart and informative video!

Is there a gluten free bread you would recommend that wouldn’t fall into
the gluten free processed category? I do a lot of lettuces wraps, but like
bread once in awhile.

I don’t have noticeable symptoms with my digestive tract. I never noticed
bloat, a stomach ache, or any particularly bad feeling after eating it.
However, through eating unprocessed foods and limiting carbs at the
suggestion of a personal trainer, my SKIN cleared up considerably! I was
suffering from what I thought, and what a dermatologist diagnosed, as
“hormonal acne” on my jaw line, neck, and chest. Well, it turns out the
gluten in my diet was the culprit! Since limiting almost all gluten, my
skin looks SO much better, I feel more energized because I’m eating the
most nutritious foods, and my muscle definition is more apparent. So, you
don’t have to be a Celiac or feel particularly unwell after eating gluten
to see results! I recommend it for everyone!

Thanks Natalie this is very informative. I’ve had stomach issues for a
while and wondered if it was lactose intolerance or IBS but having looked
into it a bit more recently it could be gluten related. I am going to have
blood tests to check before I completely cut out gluten but this short yet
helpful video came at the perfect time. Only problem is I have a sweet
tooth so find it really hard to cut out anything sweet. A video on what you
like to eat and your food choices would be great! Thanks :)

this is so frustrating!! what is left to eat? it seems like we should eat
raw vegan except for some (expensive) high quality meat here and there. me
and my husband worked hard to go 100% glutenfree&dairyfree for the past 4-6
weeks. and now i get to know that it was all for nothing?? it seems with
the foods today you can only do wrong, whatever you do. seriuosly, what is
there to eat on the long run?

If one is cut out gluten from their diet in an attempt to heal an
autoimmune condition how long should one eliminate cross reactive foods? Is
it correct that gluten antibodies are active for up to 4 months?

I have a stomach problem where I can only eat certain food about once a day
and then I became to realize I maybe gluten intolerant, but a lot of gluten
free products I can’t eat due to my stomach problem. So I have been reduced
to eating potatoes and chicken broth. I don’t know what to eat, but I’m
going to the Dr. this week and hopefully she can send me to a gastro and I
can get some help finally. I’ve had this stomach problem for 23 years and
it’s a huge burden! I have even become Anorexic due to suffering so bad
with my stomach after eating the pettiest foods. It’s a nightmare that
won’t go away. I need help!

This all makes sense, but what if you don’t have the money to get the help
of a professional?
It’s so easy for people to say “heal your gut”, but the reality is many
people don’t know where to begin. Many people like myself don’t have access
to Cyrex Labs tests and professional help.

lately have been feeling similar symtoms like I did before, I wenmt onto
gluten free pasta and bread not realising I could become sensitive to that
as well. What about rice, is it ok to eat rice still.

I have been looking into going organic and came across gluten free
articles. I have two sons that are always low on Vit D and I have always
been tired unless I get more than ten hours, but now I also ache all the
time all over. When I saw the symptoms of being gluten sensitive or celiac
disease I was actually happy I may have found a solution. My question is,
my sons being Vit D deficient, I found a place that has raw milk from grass
fed cows and not corn etc so would you think it may be worth a try? I do
realize the reasons behind people not suggesting raw milk because of cows
not being fed what they are meant to eat and what it does to the milk plus
the way they are raised in feces etc. I am a past Medical Assistant so I do
understand some medical terminology, thanks for any advice if your able.
Also, I notice your number looks to be around Dallas, I live in Pittsburg
Tx close so wondering if you see kids ages 16 to 10?

I have a question for anyone who is educated when it comes to type 1
diabetes. I was diagnosed almost three years ago and now I am reading
studies that say that dietary changes can reverse type 1 diabetes, such as
gluten free diets and vitamin D supplementation at a rate of 1,000 IU per
day. I also read a study about how injections of bacillus Calmette-Guerin
(BSG), a tuberculosis vaccine, gave type 1 diabetics the ability to produce
small amounts of insulin, which would mean pancreas regeneration. If you,
Dr. Clark, or anyone in the comment section for that matter, could give me
insight I would be very grateful.

Thank you for this video! I already avoid gluten and coffee but I still
feel bad. I’ve heard that the foods which can cause cross-reaction include
(except grains): chocolate, eggs, dairy, potato. It’s really confusing for
me as I don’t enjoy eating only vegetables.
That’s why I’ve been wondering if it is safe to ignore minor symptoms and
continue eating some of those foods (eg rice and eggs)? Or dairy which
doesn’t cause any symptoms in my case? Or is it essential to remove all of
them from diet for good?

Dr. I have oatmeal almost every morning for the last 2yrs. I put 2
teaspoons of flaxseed(ground) with cinnamon. I’m new to this and I notice
after a bowl of oatmeal about 1 to 2 hrs. later I’m in the bathroom for the
second time in 2hrs….For the last 2 weeks I started eating Gluten free
Chex cereal with 2 teaspoons of flaxseed. I feel better and lost 5 pounds
in that 2 weeks just by eliminating the oatmeal to the Chex.. So was the
Oatmeal the culprit? I’m not bloated anymore also..

Dr Clark, thank you so much for this video and others! my 16yr old son was
diagnosed with Celiac Disease 2 mos ago. all doc instructed other than
gluten free diet for life was to stay off dairy for a while.my son felt
great for a few weeks and then started having stomach pain, fatigue and
joint pain again. we thought it must be due to some sort of cross
contamination. after seeing this i now realize it must be from all the
other grains he has been eating from the gluten free cereals, breads,
muffins, cookies and such. i have now eliminated all sources from his diet
and after a few days he is already feeling better. the hardest thing is
corn products though, it is in EVERYTHING! it is even in his daily allergy
and asthma meds! I’m trying to do everything i can to make sure he doesn’t
develop a lifelong intolerance to any cross reactors of gluten. is it
neccessary to eliminate corn sources such as the inactive ingredients in
the meds, such as maltose and microcrystaline cellulose? i dont know how
far i need to take the corn thing.

My doctor says I should not believe these internet hypes. “There is no such
thing as having a leak in the gut and standing there vertical”. That’s life
threatening and you would need to be hospitalized immediately. I’m not
going to take these ibs pills he prescribed me, but drink loads of water
and get rid of grains.

100% agree with you! If I would have know this years ago, I would have
followed this advise. I cut out all grains recently except for potatoes I
tried to follow scd diet but not having enough carbs made not feel well.
Just got celiac blood test back which came up positive… Even though i
have been ( gluten free for years ) I am thinking the grains caused a
reaction like you were saying mimicking the wheat. I went wheat free when I
found out about a wheat allergy that I had. I still have really bad
stomach issues especially some gerd symtoms. Is it low stomach acid or to
much? everyone says something different! thanks for any feed back.
