My daughter is breast fed, is 10 months, and will barely eat most solids. She make take a few bites here or there, but not much. This is the first container of baby food that she actually finished…and in record timing! Like 2 minutes! They are a little more expensive then other baby foods, but it has a great mixture of fruits and veggies, most of which you can not find pureed in other baby brands. Plus she actually likes it…and it’s good for her. Couldn’t ask for more.

Carrot Apple Mango: Lower sugar, Carrots #1 ingredient!, November 12, 2014

This review is from: Sprout Intermediate Organic Baby Food, Carrot, Apple and Mango, 4.0-Ounce (Pack of 5) (Grocery)
Updating 11/2014 to provide correct ingredient list! The information listed is WRONG: the ingredients on the package are “Organic Carrots, Organic Apples, Organic Mangos” (NOT apple first!). The calories are 50 with 9g sugar, 2g fiber. I’ll try to post pictures of the correct package.

Our son adores these. The benefit of the Carrot, Apple, Mango flavor is that there is 1) no lemon juice (food allergies) and 2) the carrot is the first ingredient. The color is pretty orange, so I suspect a decent amount of carrot. The sugar content is lower than alternatives. He is 21 months but we have very few portable snacks given allergies and he still enjoys these, although he typically wants at least 2 at a time.

My son now almost a year and a half wants to be an independent eater but has yet to master the spoon. Pouches are the solution for us, especially since he never liked any puree I made. Sprout produces an amazing vegetable based product that doesn’t have tons of fruit in it, which is a nice change from other brands. My son sucks them down in no time! I buy a variety of Sprout’s vegetable intermediate foods and so far they’ve all been a hit. I wish there were more in the pack than 5 to make the cost more reasonable. Still worth it for me though and my son gets all the vegetables he needs!
