(PRWEB) January 09, 2015

Salt Lake City partner Mona Burton has been appointed practice group leader of the firm’s Real Estate, Construction, Finance, and Bankruptcy practice group effective Jan. 1, 2015. She replaces Brad Boodt, who was elected to the firm’s Management Committee serving as Regional Office Representative.

As practice group leader, Burton will manage and oversee the practice group and its sub-groups to ensure its mission and goals are accomplished and clients are served at the highest level. The

70-lawyer group represents the interests of builders, developers, landlords, tenants, banks and other financing and lending institutions, receivers, and trustees in a wide range of legal matters.

“I’m honored the firm has selected me to lead this practice group, and I’m excited at the opportunities we face,” Burton said. “Brad Boodt did an outstanding job leading us for the last four years, and he will be a great leader on our Management Committee. We have an outstanding group of attorneys and paralegals in our practice group, and I look forward to working with them to enhance our clients’ goals.”

A Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy, Burton has an established reputation in the bankruptcy, insolvency, and restructuring community for integrity, credibility, and hard work. She was recognized as Lawyer of the Year, Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law – Salt Lake City (2015) by The Best Lawyers in America©.

For over 35 years Burton has represented creditors, asset purchasers, debtors, committees, trustees, and receivers in bankruptcy and receivership cases serving the interests of clients in a number of industries, including real estate, technology, telecommunications, mining, manufacturing, transportation, retail, health, and retirement care and agriculture. In bankruptcy litigation, Burton prosecutes and defends fraudulent and preferential transfers, claims objections, motions for relief from stay, plan confirmations, and bankruptcy appeals.

“Mona has shown a dedication and a level of excellence at Holland & Hart that demonstrates her commitment to her clients and colleagues. We are excited that she has taken on this new leadership position and know she will continue to grow the practice area to new levels,” said Liz Sharrer, Chair of the firm.
