In their latest blog post, Jenny Sangler explains that, while fruits are great for health, eating the same ones over and over again can become a little boring.

Therefore, she decides to share some of her favorite exotic fruits with her readers.

The first fruit is Paw Paw.

“Some people think they taste like a cross between a banana and pineapple. I think they taste like a pina colada or some kind of tropical pudding” she says.

She then advises that the best way to eat Paw Paw is to simply split it in and half and eat it with a spoon.

Cherimoya is next on Jenny’s list, which she thinks tastes like vanilla custard. This Latin fruit is also easy to eat – just slice it open, toss the seeds and enjoy.

Star Fruit is next on Jenny’s list; another firm favorite.

“They’re beautifully star-shaped when you slice them horizontally and you can eat the skin. They have a texture that’s a lot like watermelon, but a flavor more like a Granny Smith apple” she says.

The next fruit is Tomatillos. This member of the tomato family is popular with Bobby Flay on the food network. Jenny describes them as sweeter than a regular tomato, but equally as delicious.

Finally, Jenny introduces her readers to something a little different – Ugly Fruit!

“Surprisingly sweet and juicy orangey flesh with few seeds. The outside skin is thick as are the membranes inside the fruit. Sometimes called a Uniq fruit, ugli fruit comes from Jamaica and lacks the tartness of a grapefruit” she concludes.
