can you season the beans before you place them in a pressure cooker…say
with tumeric and cummin and and garlic powder and onion powder

Is it possible to freeze the legumes once activated to use later? Or you
must use them right after you activate them?

Thank you so much. This is the best tutorial on YouTube for cooking dried
beans! One method you didn’t include was using the crock pot. This is a
nice gentle way to simmer beans without the hassle of looking at them
constantly. With red kidney beans it’s important to boil them for 15
minutes on the stove before using the crock pot, though. At age 54 in
2010 I gave up meat, in 2012 I became completely plant based. Almost 58,
I take no medication and love to run… thanks to plants, fruits, legumes,
seeds, healthy fats and nuts! Again, thank you for this video!

I’ve cooked beans on the stove top for years and years after a standard
slow soak. I’ve read about the fast soak method but put off trying it for
a long time — until a month ago. It works fantastic! I’ll probably never
do the overnight soak method again.

why do you have to discard the soaking water ? -i heard that there’s
nutrients in it and that if you cook in the soaking water that some of the
nutrients go back into the beans and that cooking destroys the
antinutrients so it’s safe to cook with ?
