It seems like the foods that are good for you are also some of the most expensive ones. Eating healthy and saving money can go hand-in-hand if you make a few changes to your grocery list.

@isforbliss I personally have never eaten potatoes in a day, but each to their own. Low income healthy food is important. I personally think food should be something we cover with taxes so that everyone can eat healthy food in abundance. -Maybe im just a dreamer, but im not the only one… =-)

@RandomActsOfMusic1 thanks for the comment, i am not suggesting someone just eat 3 things a day for life. i easily can eat 10 pounds of potatoes.

what if I wanted to eat something other than potatoes, almonds a lettuce. Also the fact is that having a varied diet is important. I think it would be a bad idea for someone to eat purely your suggested diet. I’m sure it was meant as an example, but 10 pounds of potatoes per day is a ridiculous serving.

@isforbliss
i’m just sayin… coming from PA.. i’ve never even seen conventional grapes sold for less than $2.00/lb
i dunno… for you, it might not be that impressive and might not be worth the drive. you seem to have your food connects on lock homie.
give em a call and see what’s good i guess.
bulk apples are one thing they are definitely good for… i got like 5 boxes for free once. well, sarah did… but she didn’t eat them liek i did haha

@Velkoze1 Nice yeah, I planted some potatoes near a creek like dug out the rock bed added some sand and soil and put in the potatoes. They’re coming up… It rained today, would be a good one for planting ta-to’s and I got corn too. WE’ll see what happens.

good stuff… i myself just started using food stamps. i also dumpster dive. free bananas like WOA!
i wish i had access to reasonably priced organics. California is blessed w/ fair food prices.
i remember @ Oakmont produce in Campbell, CA, they often had organic grapes for $0.99/lb!!!
Organic grapes are not even an option in Pennsylvania. they don’t exist. we aren’t allowed to have them i guess ha… bummer.
