Do any Native Americans feel tired or depressed a lot?

Question by : Do any Native Americans feel tired or depressed a lot?
I just found out that Native Americans are much more likely to have blood-type O, this is the blood-type most likely to get diarrhea on a modern diet. Native Americans also have a history of depression, much of this was caused by the unpleasantness of the Europeans, but if they are having the most G.I. problems because they are eating something which they aren’t processing good then this could explain much of the depression as well as some of the addiction to cigarettes and alcohol. Alcohol is a known anti-histamine, and nicotine in cigarettes counter-acts ADD which can be caused or worsened by chemicals and allergens in the diet. I don’t have noticeable GI symptoms, just mental ones like depression and ADD.

If Native Americans switch to the Paleolithic Diet like me then this will definitely clear up some depression, lethargy, ADD and possibly even addiction. Of course longstanding addictions are hard to break, but if part of the biological mechanism behind the use of said substances goes away then it will be much easier to quit. Trust me, my part-NA family is full of smokers, depressed, anxious people that have a tendency to smoke.

I began the Paleolithic Diet only a short while ago but I feel more clear-headed and energetic than in years.
Centered around commonly available modern foods, the “contemporary” Paleolithic diet consists mainly of lean meat, fish, vegetables, fruit, roots, and nuts; and excludes grains, legumes, dairy products, salt, refined sugar, and processed oils.

That’s exactly what I am saying Peach, humans were not meant to be eating grains- it is unnatural, they are for ruminating animals that have completely different digestive tracts. Man is much closer to a wolf than a sheep or cow digestive-ly speaking, the Paleolithic diet is what humans ate for 99% of their existence- it is the diet that is in our genes.
I don’t get diarrhea either, ever actually, I’m 24 but I have an iron stomach. Just because you don’t have any stomach problems, doesn’t mean that the wheat, grains and milk in your diet isn’t causing psychological problems. This is called a “cerebral allergy” and is rarely known unless you are a knowledgeable dietitian.

I’m not saying that this is what is causing all of the depression, just some of it. Did you know that many psychological diseases were unheard of in both America and Asia until the westernized diet was picked up by the population. There was only one or two possible cases of Schizophrenia, for example, in the entire East Asian Islands UNTIL they began to eat wheat and barley, then the number quickly approached that of Europeans.

I think a lot of this has to do with the abrupt changes in the way they lived their life. They went from living the wholesome natural way…to this.

Yeah I’m tired of being depressed or is it I’m tired of being depressed because I’m so tired all the time. But to get to your point… I am native American and so is my wife,my children and grandchildren. We eat pizza, Mc Donalds, Burger King, Kentucky Fried Chicken and other “modern day foods. I have never witnessed any of us having diarrhea from this. I don’t know about the diarrhea part but diabetics is another matter. Just try living on Government issued commodities for a couple of years and see if that don’t change your blood sugar numbers. This is not a life style we chose but one which was forced on us along with the sedentary reservation lifestyles. When you add in poor health care, lack of jobs, and reservation socio and economic problems then you have a recipe for bad consequences. I don’t know where you obtained your information from but as often as not, many of these experts seldom if rarely ever visit our reservations.
