CookingSchools.com, A Directory of the Culinary Arts Schools, Commends Idaho Food Bank For Teaching Teens to Cook

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) December 28, 2013

CookingSchools.com, an online directory of the best culinary schools, responds to an article published by KPVI on December 16th, which discusses how one food bank in Idaho is teaching teens how to cook.

According to the KPVI article titled, “New Cooking Matters Program in East Idaho,” the Idaho Food Bank recently launched a new program to teach teens how to cook healthy meals on a budget. The program, dubbed “Cooking Matters,” recently expanded from the city of Boise to the city of Pocatello. Its main focus is teaching teens how to cook meals with healthy ingredients without having to spend a lot of money.

The article says that it can be hard to find fresh, healthy food to use for cooking when fast food is so much cheaper. In the article, one of the program’s volunteers says, “I think in our society today, everything is so fast, and we just have a tendency to do what’s easy and eat at restaurants and buy foods that are quickly prepared. This gives these teenagers and adults the opportunity to learn how to cook and know that they can have it taste really good and still have it be healthy for them.”

Andrew Girard, a representative from CookingSchools.com, a directory of culinary arts schools, says learning to cook is one of the best things people can do to improve their health. “Cooking is great. It can not only inspire creativity, but also a healthier lifestyle,” he says. “Learning to cook is the best way for people to expand their minds and also learn about what they are actually ingesting. It can promote a healthy active lifestyle and get people away from all the fast food and processed meals available today.”

Girard says people can learn to cook at any point in their lives. “It’s never too late to learn how to cook,” he says. “Whether someone is looking to take a cooking course or looking to begin a culinary career, CookingSchools.com has all the information they need.”

CookingSchools.com is the leading source for information on culinary degrees, culinary schools and cooking programs.
